Remediation of Contaminated Cesspool/Storm Drains

A cesspool is a shallow system for disposing of sanitary waste. Although structures vary, most cesspools consist of a concrete cylinder with an open bottom or perforated sides. Sanitary waste from toilets, sinks, and washing machines enters the cesspool and percolates out the bottom.

A storm drain, surface water or stormwater is designed to drain excess rain and ground water from impervious surfaces such as paved streets, car parks, parking lots, footpaths, sidewalks, and roofs.

The practice of discharging hazardous and unpermitted non-hazardous fluids into subsurface soils via injection wells or leaching structures is no longer common practice in today’s environment. However, unintentional discharges often occurs.

If a drainage point is suspected to be contaminated, we can provide remedial services to remove the contamination with our Vactor. All of this being completed with our in-house staff and specialized equipment.

When cesspool, storm drains are designed, constructed and operated properly in accordance with the approval of federal, state and local authorities, these structures is an effective and environmentally safe method to dispose of approved liquids.
